First Stop, Vermont

Like every state, the pandemic’s disruption presented Vermont with unanticipated challenges when it came to ensuring students stayed on track. Vermont leaders leveraged available tools and resources to reach students and families at home with extended learning opportunities.

Second Stop, Alabama

Beginning spring 2021, the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) provides Lexile and Quantile measures on Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP) student reports. ALSDE leaders knew prior to the statewide reporting of these measures that they had work ahead of them to ensure they are used effectively to help teachers, students and their families.

Third Stop, Oklahoma

Oklahoma leaders recognize the importance of educating teachers in understanding how Lexile and Quantile scores from state tests can be used to measure progress and support individual academic and career planning from year to year.

Fourth Stop, North Carolina

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) has partnered with MetaMetrics to report Lexile measures for their students for nearly 30 years. Today, NCDPI also reports Quantile measures from its state assessments and is relying on MetaMetrics resources, such as the Lexile® & Quantile® Hub, to provide teachers with support for using our measures to accelerate reading and math achievement for their students.

MetaMetrics’ epic field trip kicked off in the summer of 2022 taking us from partner state to partner state to learn how education agencies use Lexile and Quantile measures to support student learning.
