MetaMetrics and Interactive Achievement Add Lexile® Measures to OnTRAC
Reading Metrics Allow Educators to Build Custom Assessments Based on Student Ability
Durham, N.C. & Roanoke, Va. — Jan. 18, 2011 — MetaMetrics® and Interactive Achievement have leveled the passages in the OnTRAC testing system using The Lexile® Framework for Reading, allowing educators to build custom benchmark exams based on actual student reading ability.
OnTRAC delivers standards-aligned, web-based content, assessments and instant reports to evaluate student achievement in English, mathematics, history and science. The system provides immediate feedback on multiple-choice tests-like most year-end assessment formats-that educators can now custom develop using the Lexile measures of their students and the test items. Lexile measures will help educators select test passages that students should be able to read and understand, leading to more valid information on the growth required for students to achieve a state’s proficiency levels.
