Quantile Research & Publications
Quantile® measures were developed based on years of research by a team of psychometricians at MetaMetrics®.
More than 30 years ago, our founders, A. Jackson Stenner, Ph.D., and Malbert Smith, Ph. D., had a vision to make test scores more actionable by connecting assessments to instruction.
First, supported by grants from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) they created The Lexile® Framework for Reading, the universal reading scale used by more than 35 million students in the United States.
The Quantile® Framework for Mathematics was developed with the same rigorous research mindset. To date, both the Lexile® and the Quantile® scales have been externally validated by more than 1,000 studies in 25 U.S. states and 24 countries.
Quantile Measures & College and Career Readiness
Explore our recent research on using the Quantile scale to quantify the mathematical demand of college and careers.
The Quantile Framework & Education Policy
We continue to do research on how Quantile measures can be used by educators to transform learning and accelerate student achievement. Our policy briefs explore topics such as how to bridge the readiness gap, achieve mathematics success for college and beyond, and communicating success to parents and other stakeholders.
