To help provide students with the best instructional resources, state departments of education often establish a Lexile and Quantile criteria for selecting the textbooks used in their state. This Lexile and Quantile benchmark ensures that the textbooks their students are using are adequately rigorous and challenging. Our research helps state departments of education set those guidelines.
