Top Score Writing Partners With MetaMetrics to Provide Lexile® Text Measures in Digital Writing Program
Popular Reading Metric Used in Writing Program to Find Lessons that Match Students’ Reading Abilities
DURHAM, NC — (March 30, 2017) —Top Score Writing®, the one and only developer of a writing curriculum specifically designed to prepare students for the Florida Standard Assessment (FSA) in writing, has partnered with MetaMetrics®, developer of the widely adopted Lexile® Framework for Reading, to provide Lexile measures for text passages in their new online writing program. Lexile text measures will be offered for all lessons digitally beginning the 2017-2018 school year.
This exciting partnership enables Top Score Writing to provide day-to-day writing lessons organized by Lexile measure. This process facilitates the distribution and access of ability appropriate informative, opinion/argumentative, and narrative passages that are built directly into structured lessons. These lessons include modeling, guided and independent practice, as well as quizzes, tests and homework. Each curriculum set includes 110 day-to-day lessons and over 100 brand new passages. Lessons are designed to be fun, engaging, and interactive.
