Lexile and Quantile Measures Bridge K-12 to Workforce

Many students in the US (over 35 million and growing!) receive Lexile and Quantile measures throughout elementary, middle and high school via interim tests and state assessments. By the time they graduate, these measures have guided their learning in reading and math for decades.

As students explore possible career choices, sometimes as early as middle school, Lexile and Quantile measures will help them understand the difficulty of reading materials and math tasks they will likely encounter when they enter a field. Knowing that a student who wants to pursue a career as a computer systems analyst will read materials with a Lexile measure of 1400L and need to solve math challenges at the 1200Q Quantile level as part of entry-level job requirements, can help motivate them and structure their path forward.

BONUS! Students can leverage their Lexile and Quantile measures as meaningful gauges of their readiness for apprenticeships, work-study programs, career training and other post-secondary opportunities by including their measures in application materials or on their resumes. This information is a valuable piece of a candidate’s portfolio that demonstrates preparedness and readiness.

"Built on years of sophisticated research, our career readiness solutions leverage proven AI applications, learning theory and psychometrics."
